Pakistan's Young Squash Players Shine at Asian Junior Championship

Pakistani junior squash players are making a strong mark at the 32nd Asian Junior Squash Championship in Gimcheon, South Korea, by reaching several finals on the tournament’s fourth day. Their consistent performances have impressed fans and raised hopes for multiple titles.

In the Boys Under-13 category, top-seeded Sohail Adnan outclassed India’s Amarya Bajaj in straight sets with scores of 11-5, 11-2, 11-2. He will now compete against India’s Ayaan Dhanuka in the final match.

Meanwhile, the Boys Under-15 event will feature a final between two Pakistanis, Nauman Khan and Ahmed Rayan Khalil. Nauman beat India’s Aryaman Singh 11-5, 11-1, 11-5, and Khalil defeated Hong Kong’s Yuen Tsz Long 11-8, 11-2, 11-1.

In the Girls Under-13 division, Mahnoor Ali delivered one of the biggest surprises of the tournament by defeating Malaysia’s top seed Maisarah Binti Mohd Khairul Nizam in straight sets, 11-7, 11-5, 11-7, securing her spot in the final.

However, not all went in Pakistan's favor. In the Boys Under-19 category, Abdullah Nawaz’s journey ended in the semifinals. He started strong by winning the first game against Korea’s top player Jooyoung Na but couldn’t maintain momentum and lost the next three games. The finals for all categories are scheduled for Saturday, and Pakistani players are hopeful to bring home multiple trophies.
