CM Gandapur Dares Opposition to Bring No-Confidence Motion

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has strongly defended his position and the unity of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), dismissing rumours of political instability in the province. Addressing a press conference, Gandapur said PTI remains united under the leadership of its founder and warned opponents against underestimating their strength. He also revealed facing pressure to speak against party leadership while in jail before May 9 and challenged the opposition to bring a no-confidence motion, vowing to leave politics if ousted constitutionally.

Responding to talks of Governor’s Rule, Gandapur boldly invited the federal government to implement it, saying, “Try it and see.” He warned that any PTI member who disobeys the founder’s vision is harming the party’s cause. PTI leaders, including Secretary General Salman Akram Raja and KP President Junaid Akbar, echoed similar messages of unity and resistance, accusing the government of electoral manipulation in the February 8 elections.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan reaffirmed the party’s control of the KP Assembly and welcomed any challenge through a no-confidence motion. The press conference was seen as a strategic response to the Supreme Court’s recent decision that removed PTI’s nearly 80 reserved seats, raising concerns about the party’s legislative strength. PTI has since held emergency meetings and reaffirmed loyalty pledges from its members to demonstrate internal cohesion.
